Fall Out Boy‘s Pete Wentz has announced a new signature StingRay bass.
The instrument is available now via Sterling by Music Man and promises to be an “accessible entry point into [Wentz’s] dynamic punk tones.” Additionally, the online gear marketplace Reverb.com is offering an exclusive run of Wentz-signed StingRays limited to just 50 pieces.
“The [StingRay bass has the] best tone that we’ve had from a live show to date,” Wentz says. “At the end of the day, I think that punk rock and punk rock music should be accessible. I think it’s very cool to be somebody’s potential first bass.”
Wentz has been playing the StingRay on Fall Out Boy’s 2023 tour in support of their latest album, So Much (for) Stardust, which dropped in March. The band is currently traveling through Europe and will launch another U.S. run in February.
